Ecophon Edge™ 500

Ecophon Edge 500 is a system used as free-hanging unit(s) in applications where the installation of a wall-to-wall ceiling is not possible or desired, but still good sound absorption is needed. Such applications are, for example, over a certain area in a larger room or in case of concrete cooling or ventilation systems that do not allow full coverage of the ceiling.

The system consists of Connect Edge 500 Profile, Connect Edge 500 Corner and Connect connection details, which together form a well designed perimeter trim. The profile is manufactured from extruded aluminium, while the corners are cast zinc. Both have a white 500, structured powder coating to match the Akutex FT surface of the tiles. The Edge profiles and Corners can be installed with Ecophon Focus Ds and Focus Dg systems in rectangles with modular dimensions. Ecophon Edge 500 has a design registration (Registered Community Design No 000293196-0001)

ACCESSIBILITY: The profiles are not demountable. The void can be accessed through the ceiling.
CLEANABILITY: Daily dusting and vacuum cleaning. Weekly wet cleaning.
LIGHT EFFICIENCY: Tiles: White Frost, nearest NCS colour sample S 0500-N, 85 % light reflectance (of which more than 99% is diffuse reflection). Profile extrusion and corner are finished in white 500 structure.
INFLUENCE OF CLIMATE: The tiles can withstand a permanent ambient RH up to 95% at 30C without sagging, warping or delaminating (ISO 4611).
INDOOR CLIMATE: Certified by the Indoor Climate Labelling, recommended by the Swedish Asthma and Allergy Association, and can be used in rooms classified as ISO class 6/M3.5. ENVIRONMENTAL INFLUENCE: See respectively Focus system. Metal components are fully recyclable.

MECHANICAL PROPERTIES: Additional live load has to be secured to the soffit, but items with a weight of max. 1 kg, separated by min. 1m, can be attached to grid members.
INSTALLATION: Installed together with Focus Ds according to installation diagram M210, Focus Dg as per M211.
